About the Book

How Can We Matter? is a thought-provoking collection of essays that explores a simple but profound question: How can we make our lives, our communities, and the world around us truly matter?

Drawing from science, technology, philosophy, spirituality, history, society, governance, and personal experience, NT Unnikrishnan examines the forces shaping modern life and encourages readers to look beyond the surface.

The book moves from questions of human existence and consciousness to AI, misinformation, education, healthcare, politics, digital infrastructure, and the challenges facing society.

Inside the book, readers will explore:

  • The meaning of purpose, legacy, and human existence
  • Science, technology, AI, and their impact on humanity
  • Philosophy, spirituality, Vedanta, and consciousness
  • Misinformation and the struggle to distinguish truth from fiction
  • Education and how AI is transforming learning and mentorship
  • Society, governance, politics, and civic responsibility
  • Technology, health, and the changing nature of human wellbeing
  • Reflections on history, family, culture, and human relationships
  • The challenges and opportunities shaping India's digital future
  • How curiosity, empathy, critical thinking, and responsibility can create meaningful change

At its heart, How Can We Matter? is an invitation to slow down, question deeply, connect ideas across disciplines, and consider what each of us can contribute to a world that is constantly changing.
