About the book -

When at the age of four, Rajbir Deswal, the author was sent away from home to his uncle’s house for studies, he felt a deep pain inside his heart; the excruciating pain of separation from his family. A plethora of life lessons and experiences awaited him at Jind, a mufassil town that slept soundly at night and yet was abound with adequate action during the day. ‘Jind’ provides an authentic and colorful account of Deswal’s myriad experiences as a child, as well as an adolescent.

The author’s explicit account of his village, Anta, intrigues the readers enough to know more about its people and their lives. Anta was home for him. Anta was the haven where Rajbir Deswal, the author’s heart lay; where his mother’s embraces and his father’s blessings awaited him every vacation. Little wonder he addresses it as ‘Anta, my love’.
