About the Book:

A collection of short stories, this book reminds me of my favourite flower “Sampangi”, a beautiful flower with an intense fragrance. I sincerely hope that these stories interest the readers spreading their fragrance very far and wide. The Telugu name of the flower was chosen as the book's title to retain the nativity and original flavour; several native words have been retained throughout as translations would not do enough justice and pale in comparison to the original. Surely the readers would be able to relate to this and appreciate the need to retain nativity. The stories are inspired by incidences and people whom I have grown up with and have influenced me in different stages of my life and career.

The stories were written over different time periods and repeatedly dwells on the concept of joint families, as they are beautiful institutions of nurture and care. Those who have grown up as part of large families will confirm its charm while the others will certainly enjoy these stories – some real, some purely fictional.
